ACCESSIBILITY |
Enabling equitable access to learning is the law. It is also common sense in terms of ease-of-access.
YouTube features an in-built captioning service that can be easily edited. This enables students who are deaf or hearing-impaired to access the content. Learning augmentation through reading the text, along with hearing the audio can also improve engagement and retention of knowledge. |

|
Assessment is important to gauge a student's understanding and to appraise the effectiveness of the teaching. Assessment can take many forms. My preference is for formative assessment and that which is engaging. I chose to create a 'Hot Potato' crossword for the assignment.

|
Discussions are valuable forums for the facilitation of feedback in any classroom format - face-to-face or online.
I found the use of a rubric to guide and scaffold responses useful. It is also a medium through which students can teach each others - the learning is not necessarily initiated or led by the primary facilitator/teacher. |
REFLECTIVE LETTER |
Reflecting is a powerful component of active learning. It is process whereby our mind is actively involved in knowledge construction and understanding as it seeks to summarise new information and process experiences.
This letter contains the condensation of my thoughts from the eLearning for Educators course at UWS. |
